Ann Van Hoey 

In her work Ann Van Hoey always starts from clay as the primal material. Guided by the basic geometric forms, she has developed a completely individual style, often using the technique of origami. Her ceramic creations have a sophisticated simplicity that radiates calm. Each object is the result of a search for perfection, gracefulness and purity. Given their lack of waterproofing and other functional requirements, the label as "utensils" for her pottery is not only inadequate, but almost inappropriate due to their beautiful aesthetic design. This exhibition gave an overview of Ann Van Hoey's career as a researcher and artist.
