Hendrik Kerstens 

Hendrik Kerstens' work is as timeless as it is topical. By using contemporary materials - such as plastic bags and cans - as accessories, Kerstens attempts to link the tradition of painting from the golden age with the present. The tension between model and artist, the typical use of light and the minimal depth of field make the photographs unforgettable. In Belgium, his work became known when De Mijlpaal launched the "inGewikkeld" exhibition in the Hasselt Clarisse monastery in 2010 with the photo "Paperbag" as the campaign image.
